Stewart Renfrew
Stewart graduated from the University of Abertay and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 with Arthur Young’s(now EY) Newcastle office. He also holds the qualification of Barrister following a return to Northumbria University, where he studied part-time between 2006-2010
Post qualification, he moved into the industry, working for Stanley Black & Decker and then PD Ports before moving into the SME space and joining a niche engineering services business. He completed a turnaround for the then-shareholders before completing an MBO and several small acquisitions. Over the next 10 years, he gained a wealth of experience as an owner-manager.
In 2010, Stewart commenced working exclusively with SME businesses and has completed interim and consultancy roles as diverse as an MD in the waste sector, Operations Director in the Steel Sector, and FD in the Agriculture and Food Sector. He is the founder and major shareholder of an IoT start-up business. He has worked with many businesses during difficult times and can develop innovative solutions to improve shareholder value. Sectors he has experience in include Manufacturing, Adult Education, Engineering Services, Steel, Transport & Logistics and Waste.
