Geoff has been appointed as a member of the North of Tyne Rural Business Growth Fund Investment Board. This body is responsible for the award of grants under the North of Tyne Rural Business Growth Service (RBGS).

He has also been appointed as a Technical Specialist for the RBGS, a £7.9m project supporting micro and SME businesses based in rural areas across Northumberland, Newcastle, and North Tyneside. The programme is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the North of Tyne Combined Authority and will be delivered over three years through business support agencies, Advance Northumberland and NBSL.

The programme aims to provide bespoke and locally accessible, one-on-one support and advice helping rural businesses with growth potential and ambition to develop and implement business growth plans; develop a more diverse business base by supporting rural businesses to grow, create employment opportunities, increase productivity and ultimately, stimulate investment in the growth of existing private sector rural businesses.
